2. What do you do?

I am a designer and owner of Kith NYC.

3. Where do you live?

I’m born and bred in New York City.

4. When are you most productive?

I feel like I’m actually most productive on vacations because I can really gather thoughts and really put things in order. I’m not able to do that back home because I’m pulled in a million directions. When I’m able to turn things off I’m then able to organize things in a very efficient way.

5. Why the shoe industry?

I’ve been working in the footwear industry since 13 (1995) and I’ve always dreamed of having my own shop. I used to sketch out how my store would look on my notebook paper back when I was a kid. I’ve thought about opening up a shop and in the past few years it has become a real opportunity. Now I enjoy growing and moving forward from here.

6. How do you select future projects

When meeting with brands I try looking for missing items in their line. Product that I feel the brand needs to offer but with a premium twist. The project usually needs to be placed above the brand’s usual retail price point with limited distribution.
